Question by DiverseCityFreak: How well does the Nikon Coolpix L120 do in low-lighted gyms with lots of action?
I'm wondering how well the Nikon Coolpix L120 does in a low-light gym with lots of sport action. I have a Nikon Coolpix L22 which doesn't do a grand job in that condition, even on the sport setting. I love my camera, but that's its only downfall.

Please tell me if you know from personal experience, not a review you read. And please don't suggest more expensive cameras. I'm not looking to buy a professional camera anyway.

My brother owns an L100 and it doesn't do well in low-light conditions... I doubt the 120 is much different. Just crank up the ISO - you'll get grainy pics, but you'll be able to freeze motion reasonably well.

The L120 is just like your camera, with a longer zoom lens. In other words, the only difference you will see in low light and lots of action is that you can zoom in further. It is still a crappy camera.

Low light + action?
With this camera the only thing you can do is use the flash

You won’t be happy with it.

Like your L22, Nkon “L” cameras, including the L120 are entry level compact cameras.

If you want better low-light performance, consider the Nikon P300 or Canon S95.

I’ve yet to see a compact camera that does well in those circumstances
