The infamous interrogation scene from the notorious 1980 thriller "Cruising" directed by William Friedkin and starring Al Pacino. Believe it or not, it was based off an actual interrogation technique. Such a method would a) shake up the suspect in hopes of having him begin to stumble over his own words and b) be seen as too unbelievable to have actually happened if the suspect tried to bring charges for police brutality.

Plus there was another 46 minutes of the film that was cut which would have summed up? the remainder of the plot line which upset Pacino.
Maybe if this had been more well? known, Tarantino wouldn’t have been considered all that big a deal.
