Have you ever considered doing some volunteering in Africa? Maybe volunteering in Tanzania takes your fancy. If you volunteer in Africa today you are most certainly guaranteed the time of your life There are lots of countries in Africa that need your help. This is the poorest continent on earth and with over a billion people half of which are deemed to be below the poverty line.

Africa, the poorest continent in the world is also the second most populated behind Asia. The continent comprises of 54 countries with Sudan being the largest. Unsurprisingly considering the size of the country it's no surprise to know that parts of Africa as still unexplored. The continent is home to the worlds largest deserts, the Sahara as well as having some of the remotest jungles yet to be explored by man. The African continent is poor for a number of reasons. The climate is somewhat harsh with constant droughts and floods ravaging nations. To add to the mess when countries in Africa receive aid from abroad most of the time is goes to corrupt governments. There needs to be rapid change in a number of areas to solve these problems.

Volunteering is not going to be able to stop the issues of climate change. It can however help with the recovery of areas affected. Not only with weather but all the problems many third world countries face including poverty, HIV/AIDS, famine and ethnic violence.  Volunteers have been coming to Africa to assist with many projects in the aid to improve the standard of living for all the people living there.

Volunteering doesn't just beneift the local communties it also has a profound effect on the volunteer themselves. As a volunteer you can see first hand the change you are making and what kind of effect this is having on the local communtiy. The is a great motivation and helps improve self belief and self drive.
